Getting ready for the trip...
we left lehi halloween morning and got there fine....we spent halloween hanging out in the warmth with the grandparents and uncle kevin, who they LOVE!! we got food and then handed out a couple pieces of candy, we got to see erik & annie too and of course little parks...who's too cute all dressed up! fun fun and then went to bed :)
the next morning we headed to Brittneys....their flight was monday morning....mine didnt leave til tues....my mom took hailey so we didnt have to buy a ticket for her and it worked out perfect!!
my flight was at 7 in the morning on Tues.....luckily sandy and colby were nice enough to wake up at 5am and drop us off at the airport....
here are some pics of the kids trying out the new stroller and all the luggage i had to lug all by my lonesome!!! :)
the kids were awesome on the plane.....we had 2 flights to take to get down to miami....an 8 hr total flying day for us......
so the first flight we had this 30 ys old social worker sitting next to me....he was way nice and interesting to talk to, but the person in front of us.....oh dear.....wow, he was not so pleasant....it was a 3 and a half hour flight and 5 minutes after he sat down, he turns around and says that he is planning to sleep the whole way so he wants me to keep my kids quiet....i politely say....i will try sir :) {hes like this 20 something year old grumpy punk :)} anyways, so my kid are being angels, the baby eats and falls right back to sleep in my arms, tyler is watching a movie...everything is great...he turns around and says that he can hear the dvd player and wants to know if i can turn it down....im like sure no problem....so we turn it down....so about 10 minutes pass, were still all doing the same thing...he turns around again and says that tyler is kicking his chair....honestly he cant even reach the seat in front of him....but i just say im sorry....about half an hour later, he turns around again about the noise on the dvd....so then i say im sorry sir, he can barely hear it and i cant even hear it....he rolls his eyes and turns around....ewww! anyways, so long story short....he probably turned around 5+ more times during the flight complaining about something that was seriously not even a problem....there were kids on that flight that were screaming their heads off....and i couldnt ask for my kids to be better and this guy was just...man, i really have never experienced anyone be rude to me like he was....and i think i kept my cool the whole time....i was just like geez....are you serious....just go to bed!!! ewww.ewww.ewww. luckily the guy sitting next to me was kind enough to jump in and agree that tyler wasnt doing anything....but yeah so, that plane ride was a little stressful, cause i felt bad that we were bothering him but at the same time, the kids could not have been better, so yeah that was that....he totally looked, pointed and roller his eyes at us when he was talking to his friends when we were getting off the plane....again, ewww! so whatever that was that flight...we landed in atlanta to catch our other flight...we had a 2 hr lay over so we ate and hung out....i think i was the ONLY person with kids in that entire airport!! people were looking at me like i was crazy and it probably didnt help that i didnt have my wedding ring on, haha lol! and i only had the 2 can you imagine what they would think if i had all 3 :) so as we were waiting....i had to nurse the baby and i had 2 airport workers come up and ask me what my nursing cover was and if they could look at it....it was pretty funny....they're like, that is the best invention ever...and they had never seen anyting like it....so that was fun and everyone was looking at us wondering what we were talking about :)...so after that...while we were sitting waiting for the plane....they start talking over the loud speaker and saying that the airport is at a code orange and to watch your bags and if you see anything suspicious to let airport staff know right away....i was like what!?! are you kidding me...orange is like the highest level isnt it?...ah its was scary...right when they announced the orange level, there were extra security guys that came out of doors everyone and were taking a stand around the terminal...it was crazy, so i was freaking out....should i get on the plane, stay here, it was crazy....obviously nothing happened, but to hear and see that and be IN the airport....it was scary! i was nervous!! they kept saying it over and over again. i tried calling david to see if something had happened, but nothing....but yeah pretty tense stuff....anyways, we start boarding, get on the plane, get to our seats, this was a smaller plane...it was just 2 seats on each side, so it was just the kids and i in the aisle with a TON of older folks....i guess all the snowbirds were making their way down to florida....and that was a fast ride...probably only about an hour and half and again the kids were great....the stewardess was a little onery....and then of course when we were landing, tyler decides to go into a DEEP, i mean DEEP sleep....i could not wake him up!...everyone is off the plane....im yelling, pulling, tugging, everything i could think of to wake him up and he was out cold!!! the stewardess told me that i better hurry up and get off and to wake up my child....so i put the baby down and try to pick him up and nothing...he was gone...so then this other stewardess comes along, picks him up and kinda startles him....and yeah it woke him up and made him scream and cry, all the way to baggage claim :)
ahhhhh the joys of traveling with children and the rest of the world :)
anyways....all in all it was fun....good experience and we got there, got picked up and had a FABULOUS time....minus the unfabulous times!! haha
it was awesome and we're sorry David missed it!
more pics to come....stay tuned :)
p.s. oh how i've missed you blog and all of yours too!!!

i want to punch that guy on the plane! that is quite an adventure, i think i would have a break down if i had to deal with all of that. you are great lindsey!
You are one of the bravest women I know. I don't think I would ever attempt that! I'm glad it went well though, even though you sat behind a jerk! Good for you for keeping your cool. I would have let him have it!
I cannot believe how mean that guy was to you and your angel kids!! I mean I can understand if they were crying and screaming but they sounded like they were perfect! And the code orange...scary!! You are so brave to travel with your kids all by yourself. Even with Jason I don't know if I could get on a plane with my crazy boys. Glad you had fun and that you're home safe!
